Hey, I am Yamini Gururani, a counselling psychologist, clinical psychologist trainee and a bharatanatyam artist.
I help individuals in finding meaning and learning to believe in bringing the best version of themselves. My focus is on working on thought processes in order to make the individual experience the inherent riches of human life. I was in a dark place before meeting Yamini maam. It was hard for me to go about my day and create a sense of my life. I had previously visited doctors for this feeling but was diagnosed with depression and given medications. There was no true explanation as to what really was happening to me. Medication was not helping much. I needed some explanation and that’s when I had one session with Yamini maam and I was blown away. She gave me insight into my past, helped me heal the childhood that was somewhere sitting inside me and not letting me live my life freely.
I have learnt something big in my sessions and that is that life needs to be lived to the fullest and for ourselves. I was in a very dark place and it’s surprising that my healing process was so quick. I used to get anxiety attacks almost every month, in fact, I used to get feelings of suicide within seconds of getting the attack. The bottom part of my body would go paralysed.
I was desperate to cure myself and wanted a quick fix. I had read hundreds of books, researched on the topic of depression and its psychosomatic effects but I wasn’t able to find a solution to my problem.
But just through the guidance of Aditya, I was able to view so many of my past incidents in a different light. The birth of my son wasn’t a positive experience for me due to various reasons. That was something I wished I could go and change in my past. But with Aditya, the whole incident became totally opposite to what i was imagining it as. Now it’s filled with light and colours. I’m very thankful to Aditya for this memory.
I was suffering from depression post my pregnancy. It was almost 3years of dark days. Now I have opened up about my depression publicly and also recommended Aditya to so many.
I had opted for audio sessions. During the first two sessions, I only spoke about my childhood, career, family etc. Aditya listened patiently to each and everything. To my surprise, he didn’t judge me, he did not lecture me, he didn’t laugh at me. This was exactly what I wanted, an ear to listen, without any judgement and someone to understand my issues. Even after this, he never pushed me to face my fear. He waited patiently for me to get comfortable. I couldn’t speak about my phobia in the first two sessions and then in the third session, I mustered up the courage to speak about my fear and how it had been affecting me all my life.
And in less than 3 months I am out of the biggest fear that I had been living with all my life. Today, I am a much more confident, ambitious and most of all a much happier and positive person. Thanks to ‘Aditya Sarao for everything.
