About Yamini Gururani

I am Yamini, a compassionate clinical psychologist committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around me. With a profound passion for mental health and well-being, I have devoted my career to helping individuals navigate their psychological challenges and achieve a greater sense of balance and fulfilment.

I was a science student with love for maths who opted for psychology as a new, exciting and bold subject to study. The journey then never stopped with me venturing into the field and at a mere age of 18 deciding to become a clinical psychologist to work through helping individuals with severe psychiatric illness and constantly contributing to the detachment of stigma with mental health and illness.

In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, where I combine my extensive knowledge and practical experience to educate and inspire the next generation of mental health professionals. My dual roles as a practitioner and educator underscore my holistic approach to mental health, emphasising both the importance of therapeutic intervention and the value of academic mentorship. Through my work, I strive to foster a supportive and understanding environment, empowering my clients and students alike to thrive and grow.

With my added degree in Bharatanatyam as a performing art, I have had a holistic understanding of arts, culture and varying degrees of nuances in human life from said angles..

The journey today has helped me help 700+ clients as a clinical psychologist and countless individuals to understand mental health, well- being and facilitate their journey to being their best versions.

Approach to Therapy:

My therapy approach is elective and subjective to the client’s needs and difficulties. Upon complete psychological assessment, the therapeutic journey can further be decided and taken into perspective.

My beliefs are rooted to humanism and person- centred therapy that aims to view every individual as striving to achieve their highest potential. I also work with a trauma- informed and queer- affirmative lens. I specialise with psychiatric illnesses of all nature and severity.

The aim of psychotherapy with me will always be focused on the client’s requirements and their journey to be the best version of themselves. I help individuals in finding meaning and learning to believe in bringing out the good in them. My focus is on working on thought processes in order to make the individual experience the inherent riches of human life.

What Yamini’s Client Say

I was initially sceptical of online /over the call sessions. If they would be as helpful as a visit to a wellness centre. But, I’m so glad I took that step. In a way, I found scheduling appointments was a bit more readily available and thus I could prioritize my health on time. And then comes Aditya who had a more zen style of approach among other things that worked for me. I remember the sessions where there were exercises, those were fun. And then the introspection ones with self-reflection, which are always a bit tough but much needed. The overall experience has been pleasant and very normal and I encourage others to opt for professional help more often than before.

My overall experience in the therapy session with Phanes has been fulfilling, comforting and healing. These sessions have been tremendously helpful, in fact, life-giving for me. I feel freedom from complexities, I feel liberated. The sessions have transformed my outlook towards life and have successfully served the purpose for which I opted to attend them. I am grateful to the therapist for his time, effort, commitment and willingness to go out of the way to support me.

I had stumbled upon Phanes when I was depressed, had anxiety issues and was dealing with abandonment issues. I suffered clinical depression for almost 3 years before this. I had no one to talk to about everything that was bothering me. I felt no one really cared or understood me. Mr Aditya is a polite person, listens to everything very keenly and lets a person express to his/her heart’s content. He also gives genuine simple advice and following these helped me.I developed a positive mindset, started the habit of loving myself.
